As Temple athletic director Bill Bradshaw sees it, John barbour jacketsMarinatto had one of the toughest conference commissioner jobs around.
Perhaps that's why Marinatto resigned Monday after fewer than three years as the Big East Conference commissioner.
Joseph Bailey, the managing director of executive recruiting firm RSR Partners and former CEO of the Miami Dolphins, barbour was named the interim commissioner.
CBSSports.com and USA Today reported that Marinatto's resignation was forced.
The Owls will join the Big East for football beginning with the 2012 season and for all other sports in 2013. In July, the school will officially leavebarbour jacket the Mid-American Conference; it had been a football-only member of the MAC since 2007.
"I do believe that he has been commissioner of maybe the most challenging conference in all of the [Football Bowl Subdivision]," Bradshaw said of Marinatto. "The Big East is composed of very high-level basketball and high-level football at the same time.
"So his challenge maybe as commissioner may be the most difficult of all of the commissioners."
Marinatto became the conference's third commissioner barbour coatswhen he replaced Mike Tranghese on July 1, 2009. During Marinatto's tenure, the Big East dealt with several defections due to conference realignment. West Virginia left for the Big 12. Pittsburgh and Syracuse will leave for the Atlantic Coast Conference as early as 2013.
Marinatto, who joined the conference in 2002 as a senior associate commissioner, was criticized by some for his management style and handling of the realignment process. He did, however, also bring in eight new members to keep the league intact.
In addition to Temple joining next season, the Big East http://www.shopbarbourjackets.comwill add Boise State and San Diego State for football only for the 2013 season. Memphis, Houston, Southern Methodist and Central Florida will join then as all-sports members. Navy will join the league only for football in 2015.

Solar systems with so-called hot Jupiters don't seem barbour jacketsto harbor Earth-sized planets, a discovery that will narrow the search for Earth-like worlds.
The reason appears to be that the movements of hot-Jupiter planets - roughly Jupiter-sized planets with orbital periods of about three days - soon after they're formed probably disrupt the formation of Earth-like planets.
A team led by Jason Steffen of the Fermilab Center for particle barbourAstrophysics used data from NASA's Kepler mission to examine hot Jupiters and look for smaller planets transiting them.
And, of the 63 candidate hot Jupiter systems identified by Kepler, not one had a nearby companion planet - at least, not one big enough to be detected.
The situation's quite different, though, when it comes to 'hot Neptunes' or 'warm Jupiters' - Jupiter-sized planets with slightly larger orbits than hot Jupiters. Of the barbour jacket222 hot Neptunes, there were two with possible companions, and of the 31 warm Jupiters, there were three.
"The implications of these findings are that systems with Earth-like planets formed differently than systems with hot Jupiters," says Carnegie's Alan Boss.
"Since we believe that hot Jupiters formed farther out, and then migrated inward toward their stars, the inward migration disrupted the formation of Earth-likebarbour coats planets. If our sun had a hot Jupiter, we would not be here."

On what may go down as one of the finest daysbarbour jackets in the history of the Phoenix Coyotes, captain Shane Doan's first thoughts were for the team's long-suffering supporters.
"It's been hard being a Coyotes fan for a few years, so it's nice to win this one at home," Doan told NBC after Phoenix eliminated Nashville with a 2-1 Game 5 victory Monday. "I had friends and family in the stands, so it's nice to win this for all of them."
The win was only part of a memorable night that also included newsbarbour that a deal to keep the team in Glendale might be on the horizon.
There was no closure to that solution -- more on that in a moment -- but the short term couldn't look any brighter. The Coyotes are going to the Western Conference finals for the first time in franchise history.
"We bent, but we didn't break," coach Dave Tippett said. "The guys gave it all they had tonight."
It was a franticly paced bout that recalled the Coyotes' Game 6 eliminationbarbour jacket of the Blackhawks in the first round. There was terrific puck pressure from both sides to start, but Nashville slowly began dominating the play, controlling the Phoenix zone and generating better chances than at any point in Game 4. Mike Fisher was able to drive down low for a tough backhand chance. Ryan Suter, playing what might have been his last game for the Predators, almost tallied with an off-balance wrister from the point.
But, as was the case throughout the series, goaltender Mike Smith had the answer.
He was at his best during a ridiculous series of circumstances on barbour coatsa second-period Nashville power play. Andrei Kostitsyn found himself alone at the end of a 3-on-2 break, but Smith stopped his in-tight wrister. The rebound went to an open Alexander Radulov ... and bounced directly over his stick. It bounced back to Kostitsyn and he was denied by a sliding blocker save.
Just one sequence, but to coach Barry Trotz, it symbolized Nashville's failings in the series.
"We just didn't bury our chances," Trotz said, his team foiled on 32 of 33http://www.shopbarbourjackets.com shots. "We had enough of them. Their defense, their forwards blocked a lot, but we still had plenty of chances. We just couldn't finish."
Trotz pulled out all the stops to spark his offense, constantly fussing with his lines and activating blue liners to create four-man scrums down low. It didn't matter. With Smith being Smith, their fate was sealed.

The arguments for growth policies as opposed to austerity barbour jacketsare taking center stage in Europe after the results of the French and Greek elections.
His rhetoric aside, France's President-elect Francios Hollande is not rejecting austerity. In fact, he pledged to balance France's budget by the end of his five-year term, just one year later than his opponent outgoing President Nicolas Sarkozy.
That's one reason the bond market reaction to Hollande's victory was a yawn. Jacob Kirkegaard, a fellow at the Peterson Institute for International barbourEconomics, says the market correctly perceived that the president-elect is not going to embark on some huge stimulus program in France.
Kirkegaard says that's likely to disappoint many of Hollande's supporters.
"Because he has led them to believe that he is going to usher in this new era of spending and the end of austerity through his barbour jacketrhetoric, but I think the reality is very, very different," Kirkegaard says.
Never-the-less, Kirkegaard says Hollande will push Europe to add a growth component to its strategy.
"Which is something that in recent weeks Angela Merkel and other German leaders have been positive about," he says.
Strategies For Solvency
The growth strategies being considered, however, barbour coats don't involve boosting government spending at the member state level. Rather, they involve growth-friendly moves like reforming labor regulations, to make it easier for workers to cross borders and work anywhere in the EU.
Other strategies include expanding the European Investment Bank, and funding infrastructure projects with bonds backed jointly by all EU countries, buthttp://www.shopbarbourjackets.com most importantly Germany.
"What I agree with is that Europe cannot solve its problems through austerity alone," says Mohamed El-Erain, CEO of the giant bond fund PIMCO. He's concerned about too little growth in Europe, but also about too much debt.

Warren Buffett, who built Berkshire barbour jackets Hathaway Inc. (BRK/A) into a $200 billion company through stock picks and acquisitions, said his firm may top its largest deal, the 2010 purchase of railroad Burlington Northern Santa Fe.

Republican party leaders are starting to rally around Mitt Romney, but it's not exactly a stampede of support for the expected GOP presidential nominee.
With Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich out of the race, Romney barbour jackets is his party's pick to take on President Barack Obama this fall, barring a catastrophe. While Romney talks like the nominee, the former Massachusetts governor has work to do to round up enough convention delegates to make it official.
Romney has 856 delegates, according to The Associated Press count. That's 288 short of the 1,144 he needs to win the nomination. Romney could get about 100 delegates from barbour Tuesday's primaries in North Carolina, Indiana and West Virginia, if he dominates the voting in all three states.
But unless he persuades a lot more Santorum and Gingrich delegates to switch allegiances, Romney might not clinch until the Texas primary May 29. On Sunday, Romney lost 11 delegates to Texas Rep. Ron Paul when Paul's supporters won control of the Maine GOP convention barbour jacket and elected Paul delegates to the party's national convention.
Romney is "the projected candidate," said Peggy Lambert, a member of the Republican National Committee from Tennessee who endorsed Romney last week. "Let's go ahead and get this thing over with. Let's get as many delegates as we can."
Santorum and Gingrich have said they will help Romney barbour coats defeat Obama, but neither has released his delegates to vote for Romney at the national convention in August. Santorum has 257 delegates and Gingrich has 130. In interviews during the past week, many delegates said they were reluctant to back Romney without guidance from their former candidates.
Paul is the only other Republican still in the race, and he has 94 delegates.
Many committee members are getting behind Romney, though some are half-hearted about it. These party leaders _ three from each state and U.S. territory _ automatically attend http://www.shopbarbourjackets.com the national convention and, in most states, can support any candidate they choose.
They will be asked to donate, volunteer and work for Republican candidates up and down the ticket, making their support for Romney an important barometer of enthusiasm and unity among GOP loyalists.

PARIS - France wound up a long andbarbour jackets rancorous presidential campaign Friday with opinion polls predicting victory for Francois Hollande, the Socialist candidate who promises economic stimulus measures to soften the austerity cutbacks imposed by President Nicolas Sarkozy during the European debt crisis.
Sarkozy, a business-oriented conservative battling forbarbour a second five-year term, told his followers in a final rally that the race was not over despite what the polls and political commentators said.

Hollande, also citing the danger of the undecided vote, barbour jacketappealed to his backers in a broadcast interview not to become complacent.
¡°The polls are there, and they show a closing of the gap,¡¯¡¯ he said in a radio appearance. ¡°So I say to all those who want me to be the next president, don¡¯t let others decide in your place.¡¯¡¯

Japan is switching off its last workingbarbour jackets nuclear reactor, as part of the safety drive since the March 2011 tsunami triggered a meltdown at the Fukushima plant.
The third reactor at the Tomari plant, in Hokkaido prefecture, is shutting down for routine maintenance.
It leaves Japan without energy from atomic power for the first time for more than 40 years.
Until last year, Japan got 30% of its power from nuclear energy.
Hundreds of people marched through Tokyo, barbourwaving banners to celebrate what they hope will be the end of nuclear power in Japan.

So far, none have.
Two reactors at the Ohi plant in western barbour jacketJapan have been declared safe. The government says they should be restarted to combat looming shortages.
However, regional authorities would still have to give their approval.

The Ohio Court of Appeals has thrownbarbour jackets out a $2-billion award against Ford and ordered a new trial for a class of commercial-truck dealers who claimed the automaker overcharged them for 11 years.
The reversal of the largest judgment Ford had faced was revealed by the automaker Friday in a government filing. The state appeals court in Cleveland found Thursday that the trial judge improperly excluded evidence barbourpresented by Ford. The dealers can request that the Ohio Supreme Court review the ruling.
The dealers sued Ford in 2002, claiming the company broke an agreement to sell trucks at published prices, which forced them to pay more from 1987-98 and cut into profits.
Cuyahoga County Judge Peter J. Corrigan last barbour jacketJune upheld a $4.5-million verdict awarded to one Ohio dealer in February 2011 by a Cleveland jury. He also said Ford had to pay similar damages and interest to a class of about 3,000 other dealers.
"We look forward to trying the case before a jurybarbour coats that will be able to consider all the evidence that was improperly excluded in the first trial," said Ford spokeswoman Marcey Evans.
The $2-billion award was five times higher than the largest-ever jury award against Ford in a lawsuit, according to data compiled by Bloomberg News.
The largest jury verdict against Ford was for $369http://www.shopbarbourjackets.com million in a products-defect case awarded in California in 2004. That verdict was later reduced by trial and appellate courts.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Yankees¡¯ loss to the barbour jacketsRoyals wasn¡¯t the worst part of their night. That came before Thursday¡¯s game, when All-Star closer Mariano Rivera tore a ligament in his right knee while shagging balls near the warning track, ending his season and possibly his career.
Rivera, 42, collapsed to the ground in obvious pain after running into the center-field wall while chasing after a fly ball in batting practice. He was helped into a cart and carried off the field.
He was initially examined at the stadium before being barbour transported to KU Medical Center West to undergo a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination, where he was diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
"I got caught between the grass and dirt," Rivera said after the game. "I couldn¡¯t pull my leg up. It¡¯s torn. We have to fix it. ... But I was doing what I love to do and would do it over again. I just have to fight through."
Rivera, who was going to consider retirement after this season, was uncertain about his future.
"At this point, I don¡¯t know," he said when asked if he would try to come back. "I have to face this first."
Saying he was in more pain mentally than physically, Rivera teared up and had to compose himself.
His manager, Joe Girardi, still wants the Yankees¡¯ doctors barbour jacket to examine Rivera, saying the torn ACL reports were "preliminary."
"I¡¯m sure the doctors here (in Kansas City) are very competent," Girardi said. "I¡¯m sure he¡¯s a very good doctor. But we¡¯re still going to have our guy see him."
Rivera plans to remain with the team this weekend.

GREENSBORO, N.C. ¡ª An interior designer who funneled secret checks from a wealthy heiress to a fundraiser for John Edwards will retake the witness stand at the Democrat's corruption trial.
Bryan Huffman testified Thursday that barbour jackets he received $725,000 in checks from his friend Rachel "Bunny" Mellon and forwarded them to Andrew Young, a fundraiser for Edwards' 2008 presidential campaign. Federal law then limited campaign contributions to $2,300.
Young testified last week that he took some of the money, along with unreported cash from another donor, and used it to help hide Edwards' pregnant barbour mistress from the media. Edwards denies knowing about the payments and has pleaded not guilty to six counts related to campaign finance violations.
Next to testify could be Mellon family lawyer Alex Forger, who confronted Edwards about the money.
Jay Saunders, 60, of Grove City, said prayer is needed because the spiritual condition of the country is declining, leading to economic and other problems.
¡°We¡¯re all out here praying America will turn barbour jacketaround,¡± he said. ¡°So many things have declined in our country ... because people don¡¯t have time for God.¡±

BERLIN ¡ª European privacy regulators barbour jacketssaid Wednesday that they were considering reopening their inquiries into Google¡¯s collection of personal e-mails and Web searches for its Street View service. The move came after revelations that the activity had not been a lone programmer¡¯s error, and that others at the company had been told about it.
Many regulators in Europe feel misled by Google in the matter, said barbour Jacob Kohnstamm, a Dutch regulator who is the chairman of the top European privacy panel. He called for a stronger global response.
¡°It is time for data protection authorities around the world to work together to hold the company accountable,¡± Mr. Kohnstamm said.
Google executives, he said, had reassured European lawmakers, often in personal appearances, that the data collection, which was illegal in Europe, was unintentional and the barbour jacketwork of one engineer working secretly.
Google¡¯s collection of 600 gigabytes of personal data ¡ª including e-mails, photos, Web histories and passwords ¡ª from Wi-Fi routers worldwide was first uncovered in Germany in 2010. It prompted a series of inquiries in Europe and elsewhere.
The data was obtained from unsuspecting households as cars photographing the streets for the company¡¯s Street View project drove by.
All the overseas reviews except two in Germany ¡ª one regulatory, one barbour coats criminal ¡ª were settled after Google apologized and blamed an error by the programmer for the incident.
¡°We had been told that it was a simple mistake,¡± said Johannes Caspar, the data protection commissioner for Hamburg, whose investigation first brought the illegal collection of Internet data to light. ¡°But now, we are learning that this wasn¡¯t a mistake and that people within the company knew this information was being collected. That puts it in a totally different light.¡±
His office is still investigating, he said.
In the United States, the Federal Communications Commission released http://www.shopbarbourjackets.com a heavily redacted report on its inquiry, finding that Google had broken no American laws but had obstructed its investigation. Last Saturday, Google made available a largely unredacted version of the report that offered a fuller picture of what had happened.
The unredacted report showed that the programmer, a Google engineer who lives in Palo Alto, Calif., told his colleagues in 2007 and 2008 that his software program would collect the so-called Internet payload data from unencrypted Wi-Fi routers.

In a bid to regain lost momentum with end users, barbour jackets VMware Wednesday launched VMware View 5.1, a more sophisticated approach to end-user device virtualization. In the process, it's adding desktop management tools to its vCenter management console, and making the rapid provisioning of hundreds of desktops at a time more of a sure thing.
VMware, the dominant supplier in enterprise server virtualization, has been barbour playing catch-up to Citrix Systems and others in the end-user market. There, multiple device types, multiple display protocols, and multiple definitions of the required end-user experience have led to previously complex approaches from VMware and other vendors.
VMware View 5.1 is meant to simplify and rationalize the growing complexity. barbour jacket For example, it allows virtualization administrators to create and store just a handful of golden user desktop images, while still allowing them to capture personal settings, data, and applications that will individualize the users' workspaces upon restart, said Vittorio Viarengo, VMware VP of end user computing products.
An earlier attempt by virtualization vendors to store every individual desktop as a complete image led to immense, central storage costs. By replicating the parts of the barbour coatsworkspace that many users share, such as the Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, and other applications, only a few master copies need to be stored.
VMware has added View 5.1 Storage Accelerator to the product to cache the data most frequently used, such as the operating system and application. This allows user workspaces to be assembled at the speed of memory rather than the slower speed of spinning disk drives, he added.
VMware has as an option in a "tech preview," or not yet a product, http://www.shopbarbourjackets.comcalled Composer Array Integration, which will leverage the cloning ability of a storage array to assemble and deploy more than one user workspace at a time, allowing hundreds or thousands of users to start the day within a short time period without encountering a wait for a system to heed their calls. Composer Array Integration can be turned on for customers who wish to test drive it but it is not available as technically supported software, said Viarengo in an interview prior to the announcement.

Going into this I was a little worried, with all barbour jackets the reviews that were coming out and Marvel releasing trailers, clips, tv spots and interviews I was afraid the hype was going to be too much to live up to. But man was I wrong, this deserves all the praise it¡¯s getting. In the hands of someone else this could have been a total disaster, but Joss Whedon managed to turn out a really good film.
ACTING
I though the acting was really good in here, everyone did a barbour really job with there roles, I was really impressed with Tom Hiddleston¡¯s performance of Loki. In Thor I thought Loki was kind of lack luster, as a villain he didn¡¯t come as a threatening to me but here he upped his threat level by a ton. Every character even the minor roles got the right amount of screen need for this type of epic movie project. The Humor is actually funny and not offensive like you see in so many of these other big block buster in modern times.
Special Effects/Sound
The special effects for this movie was just jaw dropping, In particular barbour jacket The Hulk really blew my mind the way he and interacts with the other Avengers is just so life like it¡¯s hard to believe technology has come this far. The music scores is very fitting, it sounds very heroic and uplifting when it needs to be and gives you that since of uncertainty when our heroes are in a tight spot. Overall cinematography is just fantastic.
Pacing
The is about 2 hours and 30 minutes long and doesn¡¯t feel like it all, barbour coatsI never wanted it to end and when it¡¯s all over I was like I need more and now. The flows along very nicely you¡¯ll be on the edge of your seat while watching this on the big IMAX screen.
Overall
I was trying to think of anything I really didn¡¯t care for and honestly I couldn¡¯t find one thing that disappointed me, to me this is the best superhero since Pixar¡¯s The Incredible¡¯s. Stay after the credits as usual Marvel has something very special http://www.shopbarbourjackets.complanned for the second wave of its Marvel movie universe. I give this movie a 10 out of 10 it¡¯s good to see a movie with such high expectations meet the requirements.

With the injured Devils forward out for Game 2, Adam barbour jackets Larsson traded his seat in the rafters for an up-close look at postseason play.
He might get to stick around.
Larsson scored the first playoff goal of his career off a wrist shot in the third, igniting a four-goal outburst in the period that rallied the Devils to a 4-1 win over Philadelphia on Tuesday night and tied the best-of-seven series at 1-1.
"I'm not a goal scorer so I was happy for that," he said. "I was happy barbour for that and I think you can see that we get everybody going after that. We score two, three, four there, so it was very important."
Oh yeah, it was important.
Larsson and Clarkson scored consecutive goals in the third period to rally the Devils past the Flyers and make up for the absence of Kovalchuk. The Devils played without their leading scorer from the regular season because of a lower body injury.
Travis Zajac added a late goal to make it 3-1, and Bryce Salvador barbour jacket scored a late empty-netter for the Devils.
Game 3 is Thursday in New Jersey.
Matt Read scored 2:53 into the game to give the Flyers hope they could jump to a commanding series lead. Instead, the offense went into a funk and goalie Ilya Bryzgalov couldn't protect the advantage.
Even without Kovalchuk, the Devils did what they wanted against barbour coatsBryzgalov, taking close shots and dominating the play in the Flyers' zone.
They just couldn't score ¡ª until the third.
Bryzgalov, who signed a $51 million, nine-year deal last summer, was especially stout in the second when he bailed out the Flyers' offense with a 12-save period. The Flyers went more than 18 minutes in the period before taking a shot on Martin Brodeur.
"I didn't sense frustration. We were comfortable with how we played http://www.shopbarbourjackets.com the first two periods," Devils coach Peter DeBoer said. "And it was just a matter of keeping it going in the third. And the goals came."
Bryzgalov had a brutal first five games of the postseason and allowed 20 goals against Pittsburgh. But he shut down the Penguins in the Game 6 clincher ¡ª a 5-1 win ¡ª and allowed three goals in the Game 1 victory against the Devils.

NEW YORK ¡ª You¡¯ve got to believe theYankees circle barbour jackets nights like Friday night on their calendars. Even as they drone on about how no one game in the 162-game schedule is any more important than any other, you¡¯ve got to think ¡ª or at least you¡¯d like to think ¡ª in their hearts, they see nights like these as a student would a midterm exam.
All due to Justin Verlander, the man the Tigers barbour sent to the mound. Because at this point we pretty much have to assume ¡ª don¡¯t we? ¡ª the Yankees will put up crazy stats on most of the Nos. 3, 4 and 5 starters they face and even more of the subpar relievers.
There¡¯s enough history to believe that will be the case.
So the opportunity to face the reigning American League MVP and Cy Young Award winner, even on a frigid night in April, is a chance to see how barbour jacketyour lineup can handle the best in the game.
¡°I think facing a guy like him brings out the best in us,¡± said Russell Martin. ¡°We know what a challenge it is facing him, but you¡¯ve got to grind it out. He¡¯s as tough a challenge as there is.¡±
And there was Martin Friday night, in the fifth-inning, hitting barbour coats a first-pitch fastball from Verlander into the first row of the right-field seats, proving he was up to the test.
Ditto Alex Rodriguez, who dumped an RBI single into right field in the first inning and deposited a Verlander fastball in the right-field seats for a solo home run in the fourth.
¡°There are no easy outs in that lineup,¡± said Verlander, http://www.shopbarbourjackets.com who earned a no-decision as the Tiger bullpen could not hold the one-run lead he gave them after six innings. He has still yet to win a game at the new Yankee Stadium, and has not won a game in the Bronx in five years.
¡°You know going in they¡¯re going to grind out at bats. But I still think if I¡¯m on my game, that should be enough. Tonight, I wasn¡¯t good enough. We weren¡¯t good enough.¡±

It is like a huge snowball fight and it is taking place in the outer Solar System around Saturn.
Scientists working on the Cassini probe barbour jackets have witnessed small clumps of ice ploughing through one of the gas giant's main rings - its F-ring.
As they plunge through, the km-sized ice balls leave glittering trails behind them referred to as mini-jets.
Some of these collisions trace quite exotic shapes in the F-ring that look like barbs on a harpoon.
The research has been presented here at the barbour European Geosciences Union (EGU) meeting in Vienna, Austria, by Carl Murray, a Cassini imaging team member based at Queen Mary University of London, UK.
The F-ring is the outermost of Saturn's main rings. It is located 3,000km beyond the bright A-ring and has a circumference approaching 900,000km.
The Cassini imaging team had been watching barbour salethe 40km-wide Prometheus moon dance along the edge of this ring for some time.
The moon's gravitational perturbations regularly produce channels and ripples in the F-ring, and it was known some of the disturbed ice particles could clump together. But it was assumed barbour jacketscollisions or tidal forces in their orbit around Saturn would soon break these clumps apart.
"We know that Prometheus, as well as producing regular patterns, is capable of producing concentrations of material in the ring," Prof Murray explained to BBC News.
"We just call them large snowballs, http://www.shopbarbourjackets.comand if these things can survive - because Prometheus will come around to the same part of the F-ring again and interact with them again - they may grow, and maybe these are what form the moonlets that collide with the core of the F-ring."

In what looks like a medical first, doctors reported barbour jacketsWednesday that a kidney transplanted into one patient, which then started to fail, has been removed and transplanted into a second patient, who is doing well.
Lorenzo Gallon supervised the transplants over a two-week span in June at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, the report in The New England Journal of Medicine says.
While transplanted kidneys have been removed from barbourdeceased recipients and given to someone else, this is the first time in the U.S. a living recipient has passed along a donated kidney, according to Joel Newman, assistant director of communication for the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS).
Since the surgery, Gallon conducted tests on barbour sale the kidney and has determined although it was once diseased, it is now healthy in the second patient. Never before, Gallon said, has a disease affecting a kidney in one patient been reversed in another recipient.
"Normally, when a transplant isn't successful, we have to take it out and discard it because it is doing more damage than good to the patient," barbour jacketssaid Gallon, medical director of the hospital's kidney transplant program.
The kidney belonged to Cera Fearing, 21, of Elk Grove, Illinois. She first donated the organ June 16 to her brother Ray Fearing, 27, who suffers from one of the most common kinds of kidney disease, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). It forms scar tissue in the part of the www.officialbarbourshop.com kidney that filters out waste and ultimately causes kidney failure.
Although the cause is unknown, the disease is attributed to conditions outside the organ, Gallon said. In patients with FSGS, disease recurrence is about 50% after a transplant.
